Dear Sir,

I surfed into your site while doing a Google search. As I am a sculptor, I was immediately interested in your work.

After browsing your work and credentials, I realize any form of critique would be inappropriate coming from one of substantially less experience than you posess.

I also have no desire to use your guest book as a forum to advertise or solicit sales, as some others have done here (profoundly tacky).

I would like to say, however, that I am quite in awe of your skill and I sincerely hope our paths will cross some day.

While I have no formal art training (I have assiduously avoided art schools), I think it would be quite an honor to learn from one of your abilities.

I wish you the best of success in your future endeavors.

Regards,

Robert Belgrad

I am an painter, a poet, a musician.

I like Jean-Michel Basquiat. But I can't get it here.

If it's possible send me book of Richard Marshall (catalogue of

retrospective exibition) about Jean-Mishel Basquiat.

It's very important for me.

I'll be very grateful.

Very difficult to find the information in Russia.

Answer please my letter.

I just wanted to complement you on your exquisite artwork. It is quite beautiful. The only thing I noticed which I found disappointing but I'm sure comes from preference of subjects is that all your artwork is of females. You draw figures strong, fluid and toned giving them an ever-lasting presence. I would have to proclaim myself a fan after seeing your work. I hope you are to be increasingly successful in your art and you strive to your outer most confinements of talent that are set by time. Have an enchanting life.

i am currently studying a ba/hons in fine art. my work is mainly concerned with the figure and i have a great appreciation for your work. a year ago i was industrious and inspired but i soon got the impression that concept art was the only way to succeed, as the tutors all greatly favoured it. for me concept art in alot of cases is for the artist who lacks any talent in painting or sulpture. i do respect some concept art but in art education any old piece of shite is being passed off as art with an infinity of pretentious babble used to justify it. i currently feel that my creativity is grinding to a hault. i attended a group crit last week where a fellow 'artist' presented a pen top stabbed into a cork from a bottle of wine. the tutors loved it and i was sat thinking 'what the hell am i doing here?' have you ever had any negative experiences like this? shall i just grit my teeth and continue what im doing? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. McIver,

I admire your work and understand your technical schematics. At first glance of your work, i see contemporary, modern, abstract peices of art.

To over meet todays understanding of art one has to create that which is not seen or understood. We have seen colors. We have seen light. We have seem all shapes. We have seem all sides. Now show me something i have never seen before in the history of art. I personally is into feelings and nature movement. And how two dimensional art creates life.

I think your work is very interesting and original, but it appears to me that many of the paintings were done with an inner pain. This pain comes through while viewing the work and I wonder if you feel oppressed? The theme of subdued women comes across a lot and some of the paintings evoke pornographic bondage photos. Is this the intention?

I think that the shaped canvasses are particularly interesting and your skill is so great that I'm not sure on some of the paintings to what extent the canvass is shaped and what is an illusion created by paint.I'd be really interested to hear a response to my qns, please email me if u have time. From Ruth

Mr. Randolf-,

I am a visual artist painter living in Vancouver Canada.

I will try to tell you my first impression about your paintings, out of any philosophic thinking.

I really appreciate your work in sculpting, drawing, and painting. This is a grate work.

I see an excellent composition in your art works, and very good volume sensibility in the relief sculptures, (Women, back view). My sensation is that your paintings are relief sculptures hanged in the wall. I would like to see them realized in three-dimensional objects, or sculptures using the same figurative image concept, with low figurative relief.

I wish you a very successful carrier.

Sincerely,

Mikel Temo

Upon browsing the internet for some great art, I found very little that seemed to touch my soul. But your art came probably the closest. I feel that a lot of your work is truly sublime, particularly the pieces that focus on the fragmentation, distortion, and abstraction of the human figure to the utmost (my favorite is the Womanscape). It's refreshing to see work exhibiting true appreciation for the classics while instilling a flavor of your own. Some pieces may seem to be a little too derivative, but no work is truly 100% original, there is always a borrowed element. I commend you for your unwillingness to settle for the "cop out" solution so prevalent in galleries today where anything counts as art. I hope to see more of your work in the future!!

Beautiful Sculpture! The Modernist movement has ruined art, it is decadent and a sham. Aesthetics are elusive in Modern art, in fact, most looks emotionally disturbed.
